In March 2024, Park City Coffee Roaster decided to hang up the barista apron and close our award-winning cafe in the Kimball Junction area of Park City.
Rob and Ray Hibl started Roaster’s retail and wholesale operations in 1997. After 27 years in retail, the brothers felt it was time to focus on their brand and their true passion – roasting a great-tasting bean.
Knowing how beloved their café has become over the past two-plus decades, Rob and Ray reached out to a longtime client Matt Johnson, who owns the Bagel Den in Heber City. Matt has operated two stores for the last several years and was in a prime position to expand his operation into Park City. He has a great food product and serves Park City Coffee Roaster’s coffee lineup. It was a relationship that couldn’t be better for the community and allowed us to gracefully exit the retail world.
Growing Wholesale Clientele
Park City Coffee Roaster’s true passion is sourcing, roasting, and selling high-quality specialty coffees. We have seen growth in our wholesale operations and decided to focus our efforts on this area of the company rather than a restaurant. There have been many changes in the supply chain in the last few years, and all this has had an impact on manufacturers and distributors. Rob and Ray found that increased attention needs to be devoted to these aspects of the company.
Park City Coffee Roaster has historically operated throughout Utah, servicing clients such as Associated Foods Inc. and Intermountain Healthcare, among others. In 2022, we became aware of the expansion of Intermountain Healthcare to include eight new hospitals located in Montana and Colorado and began planning accordingly.
Park City Coffee Roaster has also signed a contract with Deer Valley Grand Hyatt and the MIDA project to become the sole source of coffee in all aspects of the development (set to open in November 2024).
Serving Park City Locals Online
The community can still enjoy all the quality coffee and products from Park City Coffee Roaster at locations in Park City, including Bagel Den, Intermountain Hospital, Deer Valley Grand Hyatt, Goldener Hirsch, Whole Foods, Fresh Market locations, and Park City Market. We also offer whole bean coffee for sale on Thursdays out of our warehouse.
Park City Coffee Roaster, while not a computer juggernaut in the online shopping world, has created an online presence and ecommerce store to provide our coffee to customers both locally and around the country. The joy of knowing that somebody in Ohio or Florida or Oregon can sit down to a great cup of Park City Coffee Roaster coffee in their own kitchen has been a driving force, and we strive to build on our brand’s momentum to deliver high-quality coffee to the next generation of coffee connoisseurs.
